Hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgery Rotation – Miami Florida

This clinical rotation will be with a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Miami, Florida with over 30 years of clinical and academic experience. He obtained his medical degree at NYU, where he also trained in orthopedics. A hand fellowship at Alleghany General Hospital in Pittsburgh was followed by an AO trauma fellowship in Freiburg, Germany. He runs an active international hand fellowship and serves on the editorial board of two hand journals.  

The student will rotate with him at the surgical center and office. This will afford the student the opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeries. The physician has a long experience teaching medical students, and residents. The student will also get the chance to work with a general orthopedic surgeon.  

Responsibilities and expectations: 

1) The student will be seeing patients, taking history, assisting with physical examinations, observing hand and upper extremity orthopedic procedures, and assisting with medical charts documentation. The student will also get the chance to work with a general orthopedic surgeon. 

2) Setting: Surgical Center and Clinic and in Miami, Florida observing hand and upper extremity orthopedic procedures.  

3) Based on student performance during rotation, student will obtain a letter of recommendation from the physician and possibly other physicians they may interact with. 

4) One student will be accepted for each month.

Requirements: 

1) We require that all students have up-to-date immunization such as Hep B, Tdap, Covid -19, MMR, flu. 

2) Good English and clinical skills. Applicants will be evaluated upon signing up by the physician. Those with poor English communication skills will be getting a refund minus transaction fees of 5%. All applicants must have completed at least one year of rotations in their home country or the US. USMLE exams competition is preferred but not required.  

3) We are happy to give students a paper they can provide to the embassy that proves their participation in the rotation. but we don’t guarantee the visa.

4) Fees are non-refundable if the student was not able to show up to the rotation. If notice is given 60 days prior to the start of the rotation date, a 50% refund will be processed). For any questions prior to making the order, please reach out to info@thematchguy.com
