This hands-on clinical rotation will be with a board-certified family physician in Chicago with over 30 years of clinical and academic experience.  He trained at Rush University and was one of the founding members of the Rush-Illinois Masonic Family Practice Residency in the mid 90’s. There, he developed successful clinical and academic programs including the Procedures Curriculum.  From here, he moved to the St Mary’s Family Practice Residency and eventually went on to private practice.  He is on staff at Rush University, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and St Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. His interests include teaching, minor procedures, sports medicine and pain management.

Responsibilities and expectations:

1) Students will be seeing patients, taking history and performing physical examinations

2) Setting: primary care private outpatient practice in Chicago with exposure to a diversity of pathologies and patient presentations

3) The student is expected to get a letter of recommendation if they perform well during the rotation

4) Two students will be accepted for each rotation at this point

 

Requirements:
1) Malpractice insurance is required and must be bought by the student prior to rotation start.

2) We require that all students have immunization such as Hep B, Tdap, Covid -19, MMR, flu.

3) Students will be given a paper they can provide to the embassy that proves their participation in the rotation. However, it is the student’s responsibility to get a visa to the US to attend the rotation. We are not responsible for answering any questions related to US visa (please reach out to a lawyer for that regard).

4) Fees are non-refundable if student was not able to show up to the rotation (if notice was given 60 days ahead of the rotation start date, 50% refund will be processed). For any questions prior to making the order, please reach out to info@thematchguy.com

 

Rotation Requirements

Clinic operates Monday through Saturday.  The student will work at least two Saturdays per month

The student will arrive to clinic on time and well prepared to see patients on their first day

There is no time off during this rotation unless specified prior to the rotation or in an emergency

Dress and demeanor is professional.  No scrubs will be allowed during clinic hours

Students will attend the weekly noon conference given on Tuesday afternoon.

Rotators will bring a working laptop, stethoscope and white coat

Progress notes will be completed within 24 hours

Missed days will be made up during the week or weekend

Duration: Rotations start on Monday of each week and last for 4 weeks
