This hands-on outpatient rotation will be a board-certified rheumatologist who trained at Cleveland Clinic. The rotation is in Houston, TX. 

You will get to take history, do physical exam, and then present to the physician. Also, a strong LOR is waiting for you if you show your hard work and dedication. 


The current clinic schedule is Monday- Friday 8 am-4 pm, with usually half/full day for administrative duties. There are usually 12-14 patients each day in the office with a variety of conditions including common rheumatologic conditions, patients for infusions, bracing, etc.

Responsibilities and expectations:


  1. Hands-on approach: Students can take history, perform physical exam (with the patient’s permission), and then present to the attending with a brief plan. Initially, the student will be shadowing the attending in the clinic, seeing the patients together with the attending while history is taken and physical exam is done to grasp the flow of the clinic. Once confident with performing these tasks, the student will move on to hands-on as they show more competency.


  1. Setting: outpatient in private practice. 


  1. EMR experience: Students will be encouraged to learn the Electronic medical records being used and help with pre-charting patient visits, 


  1. Experience with progress notes: Students can also help the attending with the completion of notes by adding in history, medical history, etc.


  1. Ability to work with a team: Student will learn how to work with staff members in a collegial environment.


  1. Letter of Recommendation: The student is expected to get a letter of recommendation if they perform well/above expectations during the rotation.





  1. Good English and clinical skills. Applicants will provide their CVs and be evaluated by the physician after signing up. The acceptance of the students is up to the discretion of the physician. Students will be getting a full refund if not accepted.


  1. We require that all students have up-to-date immunization such as Hep B, Tdap, Covid -19, MMR, flu


  1. HIPAA certification (will learn from a file we send and sign a disclaimer)


  1. Background check (details will be provided upon signing up).


  1. VISA:Students will be given a paper that proves their participation in the rotation and this paper can be used for proving the rotation dates in the embassy. However, it is the student’s responsibility to get a visa to the US to attend the rotation. We are not qualified to answer any questions related to US visas (please reach out to a lawyer in that regard).


  1. Fees are non-refundable if the student was not able to show up to the rotation or did not get a VISA (if notice was given 60 days ahead of the rotation start date, a 50% refund will be processed). For any questions prior to making the order, please reach out to info@thematchguy.com

Physician Qualifications:

This rotation will be in Houston, TX with a board-certified rheumatologist.

The physician has had a distinguished academic and clinical career. She completed her internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, residency in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa, OK and a rheumatology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. She is board-certified in rheumatology and enjoys the challenges of taking care of patients with diverse rheumatologic problems. She also completed an online MBA program (with a focus on healthcare administration) through the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2019, adding to her skills.

She has worked in diverse clinical settings from 2011 through 2022 (from the Veterans’ Affairs hospital in Richmond, VA to a university-based clinic at UTMB, Galveston and then at a private rheumatology practice in Pearland), providing the very best in rheumatologic care. 

The physician has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has also contributed to rheumatology book chapters and presented her research at multiple meetings. She regularly contributes to online articles on arthritis-related topics for public awareness and is actively involved with the Arthritis Foundation in Houston. She enjoys being an active member of the community. She is a member of the Memorial Hermann MHMD physician network and is also affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland.

She has been a Castle Connolly Doctor since 2021.
