This rotation will be in Richmond, Texas with a family medicine physician.

This hands-on clinical rotation will be with a board-certified Family Medicine physician in Richmond, TX with over 5 years of clinical and academic experience. He trained at Houston Methodist Hospital. Currently, he is in private practice and doing both inpatient and outpatient medicine. The student will rotate with him at the office. This will afford the student the opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of pathologies in an outpatient settings in addition to exposure to a wide range of outpatient minor procedures like “Joint injections, ingrown toenail removals, abscess I&D.The physician has a long experience teaching medical students, and residents.

The current schedule is Monday to Friday in the office from 8:30 am to 5 pm. There are usually 25-30 patients each day in the office with a variety of conditions including chronic conditions like Diabetes, HTN, chronic kidney disease, etc

Responsibilities and expectations:

  • Students will be shadowing the attending in the clinic and will see the patients first and will take extensive history and do a quick physica and then discuss it with the attending afterwards. Students will be observing chart documentation and dictations. The student can examine the patient only with patient’s permission and awareness of the privileges.
  • The student will shadow the physician in the operating room but cannot scrub in. History and physical, and indications for surgery, surgical procedure and postoperative management will be discussed for each patient.
  • Research: The surgeon works in a high-volume research center, and the applicant can possibly be involved in research and paper writing while they are visiting. However, access to patient data is limited (research will mainly be case reports and literature reviews).
  • Setting: outpatient clinic setting.
  • Based on student performance during rotation, student will obtain a letter of recommendation from the physician and possibly other physicians they may interact with.



  • Good English and clinical skills. Applicants will provide their CV and be evaluated by the physician after signing up. The acceptance of the students is up to the discretion of the physician. Students will be getting a refund if not accepted.
  • We require that all students have up-to-date immunization such as Hep B, Tdap, Covid -19, MMR, flu
  • Background check (details will be provided upon signing up).
  • VISA: Students will be given a paper that proves their participation in the rotation and this paper can be used for proving the rotation dates in the embassy. However, it is the student’s responsibility to get a visa to the US to attend the rotation. We are not qualified to answer any questions related to US visas (please reach out to a lawyer in that regard).
  • Fees are non-refundable if the student was not able to show up to the rotation or did not get a VISA (if notice was given 60 days ahead of the rotation start date, a 50% refund will be processed). For any questions prior to making the order, please reach out to info@thematchguy.com
